Custom WPC Door Panel Production Line: Plan the Changeover, Not Just the Machine
A custom panel order can mean a new width, a different length, another surface or a unique core. The line has to handle those changes without forcing the operator to rebuild half the factory each time.
Technical review: BENK Machinery · Updated 6 November 2026

Door markets do not all use the same opening size. Export orders can mix 600 mm, 800 mm, 900 mm and 1000 mm board widths, while a project may ask for a non-standard length or a different edge detail. A line that only runs one size is easy to quote, but hard to keep busy.
The practical approach is to define a working range. Which dimensions will repeat, which are occasional, and which should be handled by a separate die or downstream setup? BENK uses those answers to shape the custom WPC door panel production line.

Start with the product matrix
A clear matrix should list width, thickness, length, core type, surface and expected monthly volume for every product. The highest-volume item normally sets the base line. Low-volume sizes can then be reviewed as die changes or separate downstream settings.
If a buyer asks for an unlimited range, the quotation becomes vague. A better brief identifies the three or four sizes that will carry most of the business and the one or two special sizes that need a practical changeover route.
- Main width and maximum width
- Normal thickness and maximum thickness
- Cut length range
- Solid or hollow core
- Surface finish and edge shape
Which parts need to change with the size
The die is the obvious change part, but it is not the only one. The vacuum calibrator, sealing plates, haul-off pads, cutter support and stacking table may also need adjustment. If those details are ignored, a new width can run through the extruder and still fail at the end of the line.
Changeover time is another cost. A quick die swap is useful only if the barrel temperature, vacuum and puller can recover without a long scrap run. The operating sequence should be written before the line is shipped.
How BENK configures a size-flexible line
The current BENK reference range covers YF600, YF800, YF900 and YF1000 door-board lines, with haul-off speed from 0.5 to 6 m/min and output from roughly 350 to 800 kg/h depending on model. A custom project can be reviewed around those references rather than pretending every size uses the same tooling.
For buyers with a changing product mix, BENK can discuss quick-change die handling, adjustable downstream supports and a commissioning plan that includes at least two product sizes. That turns the custom claim into a practical production routine.
- Reference width range from 600 to 1000 mm
- Custom die and calibrator for a confirmed section
- Haul-off and cutter support adjustable for the working range
- Spare die and wear-part planning for multi-size production
- Trial runs on the main sizes before shipment
Production sequence
From material preparation to finished panel
- 01
Build the size matrix
List regular and occasional widths, thicknesses and lengths.
- 02
Confirm the base model
Choose the line size that covers most of the volume.
- 03
Review special sizes
Decide whether each one needs a die change or a different downstream setting.
- 04
Plan the changeover
Write the die, calibration, haul-off and cutting sequence.
- 05
Run the main size
Establish the baseline settings and quality record.
- 06
Run a second size
Verify the changeover and adjust the SOP.
- 07

Reference specification and planning range
The figures below are a starting point for discussion. The final line specification should follow the approved panel drawing, material formula and trial result.
| Item | Reference / planning note |
|---|---|
| Reference widths | 600 / 800 / 900 / 1000 mm |
| Thickness | Commonly 40-50 mm for door boards; other thicknesses by tooling review |
| Haul-off speed | 0.5-6 m/min in the reference range |
| Output | Approx. 350-800 kg/h depending on model and section |
| Length | Set by the cutting and stacking arrangement |
| Custom work | Die, calibrator, supports and changeover procedure reviewed together |
How BENK fits the project
Where the BENK line supports the result
BENK can review custom widths inside a defined working range. The final scope depends on the die, calibrator, haul-off and cutter arrangement, so the most useful starting point is a product matrix rather than a single machine model.
Buyer checklist
What to settle before you compare quotations
- Do not ask for a custom width without a dimensioned drawing.
- Confirm the maximum panel length the cutter and stacking table can handle.
- Ask for a changeover time estimate with a realistic scrap allowance.
- Check whether each size needs its own vacuum sealing plates.
- Test at least two sizes before accepting the line.
Questions buyers ask
WPC door panel line FAQ
Can BENK make a width outside 600-1000 mm?
It can be reviewed, but it is not an automatic option. The extruder, die, calibration table, haul-off and cutter all have to suit the new width.
How long does a size change take?
It depends on the die design and downstream equipment. A practical estimate should include die handling, temperature recovery and the first quality approval.
Is a custom length easier than a custom width?
Usually yes, because the cutter and stacking system can be adjusted. Width changes normally involve the die and calibration section.
Can one line make solid and hollow panels?
It may be possible with different dies and calibration tooling, but the changeover and product range should be confirmed during project review.
Project brief
Tell us the panel, not just the machine.
Send the panel drawing, material formula, target output and factory location. BENK can then review the line configuration against the actual product.
